Whether it’s your child’s first taste of forest school or they’re already wild at heart\, each day offers something new to discover. \nWhat Will They Do?\nEach session is child-led and seasonal\, with plenty of time for exploration\, creativity\, and skill-building. Over the course of one or more sessions\, children may experience: \n🌱 Growing food from seed using no-dig\, regenerative techniques\n🔥 Fire lighting and outdoor cooking (with Kelly kettles and campfire treats)\n🪵 Tool use (whittling\, sawing\, and bushcraft activities\, all safely supervised)\n🎨 Woodland crafts using natural materials: weaving\, dyeing\, clay play\n🏕️ Shelter building\, knot-tying and den design\n🥕 Foraging and nature connection games\n📚 Storytelling and mindfulness in our forest circle \nEach day will be different – shaped by the children\, the weather\, and the season – but every visit builds confidence\, curiosity\, and a strong connection to nature. \nWant the Full Experience?\nWe recommend booking multiple sessions so your child can enjoy a broader range of activities and deepen their connection with the land\, the group\, and the forest school ethos. Jenny brings a wealth of knowledge from her years working in outdoor and educational settings. Jenny is: \n\nThe Designated Safeguarding Lead for Piccolo’s Forest School\nLevel 3 Forest School Trained\nFully Advanced DBS checked\nPaediatric First Aid Trained\nFully insured with professional and public liability insurance\nPassionate about outdoor learning\, play\, and child development\n\nJenny is also a well seasoned gardener and experienced natural crafter\, bringing creativity and a deep respect for the natural world into every session. \nYour child’s safety\, wellbeing\, and enjoyment are our top priorities. \nAdditional Notes & Considerations\nSEND Provision\nIf your child has additional needs and you’re unsure whether the programme would be a good fit\, please get in touch before booking – we’re happy to have a chat and see what might be possible if not during our summer pilot\, but certainly during our future sessions. \nWhilst we aim to be as inclusive as possible\, due to the small-scale nature of this pilot programme and limited staff capacity\, we may not currently be able to provide appropriate support for children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) but we are happy to discuss different options for making this a possibility\, so please email us at hello@piccolo-orto.org with any questions or concerns. \nFacilities On Site\nOur forest site is fully off-grid and designed to immerse children in a natural\, low-impact environment. \nPlease note: \n\nCompost toilet facilities are available\nThere is no mains electricity\nWe do have access to clean running water\nDrinking water will be provided and all hygiene needs are carefully managed using eco-friendly systems\nWeather & Clothing\n\nSessions will go ahead in most weather conditions (except severe weather warnings)\, so appropriate outdoor clothing\, including waterproofs and sturdy footwear\, hats and sun cream is essential.
